Abduraouph, also known as “Ouphie”, is a Senior Attorney at De Beer Attorneys and an Admitted Attorney at De Beer Attorneys. He is extensively involved in all aspects of commercial disputes including High Court litigation, Magistrate’s court litigation and mediation. He is also involved with all aspects related to the filing, prosecution and enforcement of trademarks for both local and international clients.
Abduraouph is also a certified mediator in respect of High Court litigation matters.
Abduraouph worked at a large African intellectual property law firm in Cape Town before joining De Beer Attorneys. Here he gained extensive experience on the prosecution and enforcement of trademarks for some of South Africa’s industry leaders as well as prominent international brands.
Abduraouph has also in the past assisted clients with unfair competition and advertising law matters and has heard matters before the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in South Africa.
Ouphie is widely regarded as an expert on High Court litigation, brand protection and brand enforcement in South Africa. He regularly conducts interviews on local radio and TV stations and has hosted and presented on the topic at local conferences.
